On April 1st.Odaiba 「MEGA WEB」 Afilia Saga East held their release event for their 7th single Mirai ga Watashi wo Matteiru


The fans knew that this would be the last time they would see the 14 members on the stage together in Kanto and they gathered to help make the stage a intense one.


There were rules about fans not jumping and for the fans who wanted to wotagei they would have to do it further at the back. But the fans complied with it and displayed their good manners. Afilia Saga East is blessed to have such good fans. The girls who work at the Afilia Group cafes call their guests Senpai-gata and treat them exceeding well. And the fans have not forgotten the heart of the Senpai-gata.

Our new song is「Our song to support everyone else」

The 7th single「Mirai ga Watashi wo Matteiru」, Tsunku is the lyrcist and Chiyomaru does the lyrics. This is an upbeat number that sends heartfelt support to the members who were graduating, as well as the message of looking forward for that future.
「When listening to the song, I cried. There was a kind of lonliness that can't be shaken off, but it was a song that could encourage people. 」（Yukafin）. The chorus rung with『Dakshimete , Yumetachi wo』which nudged people to head for that future that is waiting ahead for them. Even if one did not know about the graduations, they would still be able to touch their ears and hearts to feel the surge of emotion.
「Spring is the time where people graduate from and enter schools. A period of encounters and partings. We wanted to present that to everyone who listens to this song. This is a song that is filled with loads of emotions」（Ayami）. The choreography of the song, was done by Lucky Ikeda san who has been with the girls since their debut, gave the song a comical dance which produced a gap from the serious music. The girls' performance is one to watch out for! Lastly, we asked Yukafin what was her feelings about releasing their 7th single.
「We were a group that comprised of amateurs, after 3 years, we had the opportunity to release our 7th single. With this 7th single, support and our feelings we will work hard. Such a grand producer team isn't something you see often. If you are interested, please do listen to it!」

We are, idols that you get to meet a lot!

「We are, idols that you get to meet a lot! At the shops, we receive kind words from 'Senpai's and we hear about their take on stuff and through that we slowly mature. This sets us aside from other idol groups and gives us an advantage!」

The one who emphasized that was Yukafin. By “Senpai”, she refers a special expression used by the girls of this “Gakuin based girls unit” , in all it is used to refer to their fans. The girls belong to the「Middle school section」, visiting guests belong to the「High school section」therefore the setup of "Senpai".
Yukafin who was working at the shop was asked to join the group.「I was an amateur girl, I have never danced nor sung before. That is why chasing after the first generation members was very tough. But it was fun!」and her eyes sparkled. (edit note: lol)

The 14 members were chosen from the「Afilia Group」which is a project that spans across Japan. The cast from Ikebukuro, Ueno and Roppongi branch number around 100 people and from there, the girls were carefully picked. Musician and Chairman of Game company MAGES Shikura Chiyomaru and Seiyuu and musician Momoi Haruko double produced this unit leading to its debut in March 2009. Xbox 360 Game「STEINS;GATE Hiyoku renai no Darling」's Opening theme is their 6th single「La*La*La Labolution」, attained the daily chart's 24th placing which indicates the popularity of the single and that there are more and more "Senpai"s supporting us!

“Graduation and Entrance to school” Unit

「"Graduation and Entrance to school" Unit」. Afilia Saga East was built upon such a concept. This spring, 2 of the first generation members are slated for "Graduation". Whereas last year December, two new girls joined the group. One of the new girls, Laura has been working for almost 8 months at the stalls and have been a dilligent cast. While at the stall, she had to use her own creativity to make good cocktails and had to study for that as well, also she had to memorize the menu by heart.

「As I wanted to be better at being a bartender I went around to look for help, I entered this shop but working with the Saga members who are Idols make me respect them a lot. I would be happy if I could enter too」with that Laura laughed. Sometimes one would work 6 shifts a week, because the "Senpai"s are many. At the end of last year, suddenly at their 2nd One man Live（ZeppTokyo）'s stage she was made to stand in front of all the fans, the hall was filled with familiar faces and it was unexpectedly relaxing for her.　「“Senpais”who have come to our shop, and friends from around my neighbourhood thought about whether I really became an idol. Normal Idols would only stage events and shake hands at events but that limitation distances the fans and idols. However, at our stalls we are able to cut that distance and engage in normal conversations with our fans」said Laura.　「If we all became too close to them that would be troublesome.But, after all our "Senpai"s are gentlemen (edit note: there are girls too though... but idk whether the Females will be called Senpais as they have a different color coding from Males.)」said Yukafin. Both of them worked together at the Ueno branch.

Ayami who works at Roppongi Stars was also a member who joined along the way. She hasn't tried doing stuffs like dancing and singing like an idol before.「I have finally learned how to keep in step. The steps in the dance are energetic and difficult to keep up with」It seems tough to have to remember 20 over songs.

The different shops have different pace in their own shops. For example, the Ueno branch is open from 5pm in the evening till 5am next morning. Members too have to work till early morning at times. There is also this campaign that spans most record stores in the country. It seems very busy and tiring but,「After the Lives and Events, with that rigor and momentum I could continue working till morning and talking to the "Senpai"s would make one feel unexpectedly rejuvenated.」（Laura）who seems to be carefree. An Idol you can drink with till early morning is normally unheard of. One should try going to the store to find out for oneself.

I am actually quite excited to get my copies of Mirai ga Watashi wo Matteiru! This song has been stuck in my head since I went to watch them perform it live! That was one experience like no other. This song might just be the breakthrough that Afilia Saga East needs to climb up the ladder of success! (imo imo)

Idol paparazzi's Interview with Afilia Saga East

Idol paparazzi has once again released their Afilia Saga East coverage, this time featuring an interview with 4 members: Kohime, Louise, Maho and Meiry.

The interview is conducted in a question and answer format similar to those of the previous 3 reports.

In this interview, they discuss about the charm of the Afilia group 

(Meiry:  ... At the Ikebukuro shop, we are students at a Magical Gakuin where the Senpais(what we call our guests) will come and study Magic with us...)

(Maho: ... At Ueno Sherry's we have a drinking bar concept...)

(Kohime: The charm of the group would be that the same Afilia group's shops will have varying concepts...)

and the beauty of Afilia Saga East. They also touch on various topics such as how they view the graduation of the first generation members Rose and Meena as well as their goal for this year!

(Kohime: Afilia Saga East wants to perform at the Animelo Summer Live! ...)

(Maho: We want to have more fans locally as well as abroad! ...)

Wouldn't it be great if Afilia Saga East could really perform at Animelo Summer Live. They have become increasingly relevant to the anime scene in my opinion. The Afilia group concept is also very interesting so please check it out when in Japan. They have branches in Ikebukuro, Ueno, Roppongi, Nagoya and Osaka. 

The Afilia Saga East members will be working at the branches in Tokyo. Please check out the members page to the right. The two new members who are not included on the page yet, Laura(Sucre-chan) and Emiu work at Ueno Sherry's and Roppongi Stars respectively.

Mirai ga Watashi wo Matteiru

Mirai ga Watashi wo Matteiru is the title of the 7th single from Afilia Saga East. It will be released on the 2012/3/28 and there are a total of three versions. Limited edition A and Limited edition B includes a DVD with the package and we also have the Regular edition.

This is one single you must get! Mirai ga Watashi wo Matteiru ,which literally translates to the future is waiting for me, is a song of hope. It is one of those songs that would touch one's hearts. This song comes in the face of many changes including the addition of new members Laura and Emiu, as well as the graduation of the first generation members Meena and Roze. Holding tight to the belief of a better future, one would wait. This is a very important song to the members.

I have heard it live during a Girls Pop'n Party recording when I was in Japan for a holiday.
I have also watched the CM and heard it on radio shows the members attended. The dance is very dynamic and interesting. To say that the lyrics are meaningful is an understatement. The song holds something special for the members and through their energetic performance, one would be able to appreciate that. This song is probably the best one so far with Chiyomaru and Tsunku continuing their collaboration. Afilia Saga East's 7th single's Mirai ga Watashi wo Matteiru is a considerable upbeat song. It boasts a dynamic dance and the synchronization between the lyrics and the dance is uncanny. There is no down moment in this song and it makes one feel energetic enough to want to dance along with the girls. 

The coupling song 「倍速恋愛時計」 or Baisoku renai tokei which literally means a watch that measures speed of love. The dance for this song is very amusing, with a part of the hand actions involving the girls looking at an imaginary watch on their arm. The dance suits the song and one would find themselves wrapped up in the pace of the group. 

The girls of Afilia Saga East are still running campaigns in Japan where they hold events every weekend.

Upcoming next would be 25th of February where there would be a Pajama event with the girls dressing up in the clothes they wear at home to the event. Please show your support in anyway
